BACK TO WORK

Hi folks! Did everyone have a restful and fun Labor Day holiday? Mine was kinda quiet, but nevertheless, very nice. We had the family cookout on Sunday since Monday was really more of a work/school night. We gave our dogs baths-now don't laugh-that's quite the undertaking. And, as promised, I bought some quilt fabric. I have started a little lap quilt for me for the long, winter nights to come. That's a joke since I live in Tennessee and it hasn't snowed here to speak of in the last 3-4 years! Hope springs eternal, because I love a good snow.
Anyway, here's the beginning of that little quilt. I have tried to restrain my love of color and make this a little softer in line with my idea of my newly redecorated bonus/rec room. (still in progress).

This is the fabric for the backing, kind of a shabby chic, muted print. Much prettier than shown here. I'm working diligently on it, so hopefully I'll have the finished product to show you soon.
Thanks for all your sweet words of encouragement to me because of non-vacation. You're the best support I know. It was nice to have a laid back time to spend with my husband and sleep late, so all was not lost. Have a good week. We'll talk soon. Nerm

That material is just beautiful, and I love the colors!

Clare wore your twirly skirt today for her birthday!!! She had a kitty cat birthday cake and had to wear the kitty cat skirt! When the girls wear their skirts, I think of you all day!

Hi Nerm,
Lovely quilt fabric! The pink is sooo sweet.

Wishing I was there to go shopping with you and Victoria, I will be missing out on such fun, SHOOT!!!

I plan on flying down next spring, so we will have to set up a lunch and shopping trip while I am there! You are going to love the Harmony Home store, I wanted to buy just about everything in there! She has great iron stuff, and wonderful prices...

Take care and I will come back and visit you after the wedding is over!

XO,
Donna Lynn

What??? Barely any snow??? Im on the first bus outta Pa and headed to Tn. !!! Labor Day...humpf. I showed up at my job dressed and ready to work only to find out I was scheduled off....duh. I didnt do anything but lay around and eat. Ah well...that is really what I needed anyway. Love the quilt colors...I m like you...instinctly wanting to throw smashes of color into everything. I love the look of the tone on tone nearly all white shabby chic style but couldnt live with it for more than a day.

Hi Nerm,
Me again. What a good idea about giving/sharing hints for treasures. I think I'll make a post about that within the next week. I hope I have some good ideas?!
Warmly, Deb :)

No kidding. My daughter Pearl AKA--No, Pearl No! Is also nicknamed Kitty. For many reasons. How cute that you go by the same. She is only 1 1/2. But very cute!
