Here are some photos of some vintage dishtowels & dresser scarves I got last week in my only garage sale purchase. I just love these things. I have several that my mother embroidered back in the 40's and 50's. So everytime I find some at a good price, I buy them. The two below were in nearly perfect condition. I just washed and ironed them.
Now this beauty is really vintage. It's from the 40's. The reason I know this is because I have a luncheon set from my mother which has almost the identical print. Love the cherries. And it already has that tea dyed look - only the stains are real! This was a much used towel.
Here's what I did with it:
Make a cute pillow trimmed with my yo-yo's and buttons. How cute did it turn out? I'm going to list it on Etsy. So come on over for look.
I've got my two girls (Mekenzie & Maddie) for the last sleep over for the summer. Next week's Vacation Bible School and then it's vacation. Like I said summer's winding down. Take care and we'll talk again soon. Luv, Nerm

Beautiful towels!
Wow, isn't Kindergarten just such an exciting, yet sad time for mothers and grandmothers? Their world will change!!
Yes, that is early for school to start, when do they get out? I hope mid-May. Won't school be very hot still in only 2 weeks? Those poor littles!
We are starting after Labor Day. On Clare's birthday (Sept 2nd)
Have fun with those cute little grandaughters and were you alive when Lincoln freed the slaves? haha!! Just kidding, you are so very young!! Funny how kids think of adults in years though isn't it? If I ask my 3 year old how old she thinks I am she will say the biggest number she can think of like "11" or "12" Just have to love that!!
You are too darn creative! I used to be that way before kids and photography took over my life! Have fun in the last hazy days of summer!
Hi Nerm,
I truly am a lover of vintage linens and have though of making pillows with some of them. Yours look very nice. Thanks for visiting me and my craft room :)
I'm out hunting for treasure tomorrow. :):) Warmly, Deb
I love your linens! I am a kindergarten teacher - well, this will be my first year. The last several years I taught 1st. I am expecting lots of tears from the MOMMYS! I am a grama, too - and love, love, love my granddaughter. Come over for a visit and see her pretty face! Hugs, Patti
The fabric on the pillow is so pretty! Good job.
My daughter starts her first day of college on Aug.18th! No more kindergarten :(
Love the vintage items. My MIL gave me all her embroidered pillowcases and dresser scarves. I can't bear to use them but someday I will.
Yeah in the old days we went to school after labor day. My kids love to insult me :-) like that too.
